Nuggets of Truth

“If you are pure and upright, even now he will rouse himself on your behalf and restore you to your prosperous state. Your beginnings will seem humble, So prosperous will your future be.” Job 8:6-7

That is exactly what happened because Job was a humble man. You are never far from God, no matter where you might be or what you might have done. He made you and he loves you. Come to him, he is waiting. He will make everything right. With him comes all blessings and goodness.

“Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.” Job 13:15

Even if you take me home, where I will live with you forever. I know you are righteous and just and I know what we have together and nothing can separate us. I am confident.

“A person’s days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.” Job 14:5

We all live by an absolute, and that is death. We are given so many hours on earth and then we will spend eternity somewhere. How we live our lives during that time determines where that will be. If we are ready, does it really matter?

“My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of man he pleads with God as one pleads for a friend.” Job 16: 20-21

God is the best friend I could ever have. He will never let me down and always meets my needs. I can come to him about anything.

“I know that my redeemer lives, and in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes – I, and not another.” Job 19: 25-27

One day when we close our eyes for the last time and breathe our last breath, we will open our eyes to see his face. No man can see God and live. But one day we will see him in all his glory. We will have brand new perfect bodies with no limitations and great wisdom. As the song claims, I can only imagine!

“Is not God in the heights of heaven? And see how lofty are the highest stars! Yet you say, what does God know? Does he judge through such darkness? The thick clouds veil him, so he does not see us as he goes about in the vaulted heavens?” Job 22:12-14

Look into the heavens one night and try to understand the one who knows every star by name and all that he has made with his hands. Nothing is hidden from his sight or from his understanding. God sees everything.

“Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.” Job 22:21

Be at peace with God, he is in control always and he is good!

“If you return to the almighty, you will be restored: if you remove wickedness far from your tent.” Job 22:23

Come to him.

“He will deliver even one who is not innocent, who will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.” Job 22:30

Even if you have sinned you can come to him because he loves you and he made you. You are very important to him. He can make you righteous from this very moment. Just ask!

“But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; i have kept his ways without turning aside. I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.” Job 23:10-12

God knew Job, and when Satan questioned God he was proud of Job and knew his heart completely. That he would not say or do anything against God. God doesn’t need to prove anything, but I do believe he can be proud of what he has created.

“And he said to the human race, the fear of the Lord – that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.” Job:28:28

To revere and respect the Lord and to love him and his ways with your entire being, that is wisdom and understanding. The more you do that, the more he will open your eyes to the truth. The more you will see him.

“And after Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. All his brothers and sisters and everyone who knew him before came to eat with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over the trouble that had been brought on him, and each of them gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring. God blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part.” Job 42:10-12

After, we always need to make the first move, Job had been right in knowing who his God was. He never lost hope in who his God was. His friends thought they knew who God was. Man’s assumptions are seldom correct though. His friends were sure that he was in the wrong. His family and friends had abandoned him. What could they say when it did seem as if God was against him. It is hard to be around those who are suffering and in pain. But when God came and showed his love for Job and turned things around everybody was his friend. Yah, he’s my brother. They were proud to know him then. Well God gave him double for his troubles. Sort of hazard pay. God always comes through and he is more than just.

Nuggets of Truth

“He sought God during the days of Zechariah who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.” 2 Chronicles 26:5

So many times the Bible tells us of people who served and followed after him and were blessed and successful . Proof that he is good.

“Jotham grew powerful because he walked steadfastly before the Lord his God.” 2 Chronicles 27:6

More proof.!

“… he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.” 2 Chronicles 31:21

More proof!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because the king of Assyria and the vast army with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us fight our battles.” 2 Chronicles 32:7-8

If God be for us, who can be against us. We may have enemies but who is greater than our God? Can anyone beat him? I know who I want on my side.

“Who of all the gods of these nations that my predecessors destroyed has been able to save his people from me? How then can your God save you from my hand?” 2 Chronicles 32:14

This just boggles my mind. How the Israelites keep turning to false gods, after the one true God did so much for them. Even the people against them knew God was fighting for them and they didn’t stand a chance. But they still sought false gods. Peer pressure?

“And the Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he drew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons, his own flesh and blood, cut him down with the sword.” 2 Chronicles 32:21

God wins in the end. The bad guy loses and all is right again.

“In all that has happened to us, you have remained righteous; you have acted faithfully, while we acted wickedly.” Nehemiah 9:33

The people are beginning to see a pattern. They keep screwing up. But God keeps showing up to bail them out. He is good.

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arrive for the Jews from another place, but you and your fathers family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to a royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

God can and will use anyone. We do not always have to accept his plan, but if he has a plan it will prevail. Our church has a prayer pavilion that prays 24/7 for needs around the world. It is becoming a well known place and people have visited it from around the world. Those in charge just said yes to God. They weren’t Gods first choice but they said yes when others didn’t. They didn’t doubt God’s plans even though it took years and thousands of dollars.

If goodness is always rewarded how can we know if it’s from a true love of God, or desire for gain?

This is something Satan brought up to God in Job. Well since God knows every thought, would he not know our motivations? But I do believe that even when non believers show compassion and do good things for others they are rewarded. There is a fact to giving, that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Some evil people have found this out, too. It is also a fact that when you are blessed for doing the right things , you just do more out of thankfulness.

“He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” Job 5:9

God is at work always. Remember he promised to always work everything out for our best. And he is doing so much mighty stuff that we just can’t fathom.

“Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the almighty.” Job 5:17

Just as a loving parent only disciplines out of love, he only wants the best for you. If he didn’t love you so much, why would he care? Just do what you want, pay the consequences, it doesn’t matter to me. Well you do matter so much to God, so be grateful.

Nuggets of Truth

“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve , whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the god of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

God had proven himself to Joshua and he wanted to convince the others but it was their choice. They could see God was good and all that he had done but would they serve him?

“It was the Lord our God himself who brought us and our parents up out of Egypt, from that land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled.” Joshua 24:17

The people said it themselves. God did it all for us. But would they serve him? They were a stiff necked people.

“Lord the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth— you who keep your covenant of love to those who continue wholeheartedly in your way.” 2 Chronicles 6:14

One thing is true. God does keep his promises. When he says something it can be trusted. It may not be in our time frame, but it’s right on time in his perfect time frame.

“Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple? People will answer, because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping them and serving them-that is why he brought all this disaster on them.” 2 Chronicles 7:22

We bring so much trouble onto ourselves and yet we quickly blame God. God is always good and just. His ways we just can’t fathom because he knows the beginning from the end.

“The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.” 2 Chronicles 15:2

The more you seek him the more he will be revealed to you. I heard someone explain this to me in relation to children. The dad is being chased round and around by the kids, but just before they give up he lets them catch him. Because that kind of love brings so much joy. He just wants them to earnestly seek him. Or have you ever played hide and seek with children. When they count you hide, but not very good, so they will not give up too easily.

“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7

God will reward us when we try. He loves us and loves giving us good things. But people who don’t know God think he is a taskmaster. But since they don’t know him, they will never know how much you will do for someone you love who loves you.

“All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly.” 2 Chronicles 15:15

God’s people would come to him and confess their sins, just to go back to sinning again. But every time he forgave them just like he said he would. Giving them a peace that comes from true repentance. It says I really was wrong and I really wish to do right. But as the world gets hard we often slip back into our sins. But God is always ready for us to come back to him no matter how bad we’ve been.

“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and now you will be at war.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

God is perfect and he is just. So when we sin we will pay the consequences. If we run back to him though, he is loving, and will take us back. As a parent I can remember grounding my kids for bad behavior but as they show true repentance, I sometimes forgot about my threats and let them slide because I loved them and wanted to see them happy.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15

God is our champion. He loves his own and he will fight for them. We so often let things get to us. Every trial and difficult thing we need to take to God. The sooner the better. It may be that he is using it to strengthen us. But he uses everything for our good and he will be with us through everything. Sometimes God will work out impossible situations that we never imagined in his special ways.

“…men went to carry off their plunder, they found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing and also items of value-more then they could take away. There was so much plunder it took three days to collect it.” 2 Chronicles 20:25

In this instance God sent his angels to thwart their enemies, who turned on each other and annihilated themselves. And because God is a God of abundance he gave them such a great victory. They not only received the spoils of war, but there was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it all.

Nuggets of Truth

“Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys my law will live by them. “. Leviticus 18:5

There was only one request from God. To love and to obey. Is that too much to ask for all he does.

“Your threshing will continue till grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue till planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land.” Leviticus 26:5

When they came into their special land God continued to provide. He made sure that from harvest to harvest there was always enough. They were blessed.

“You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you.” Leviticus 26:7

Your enemies will run from you. They won’t be a problem for you. I will take care of you.

“I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you.” Leviticus 26:9

I’m giving you everything and making you successful also, wow!

“But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with your whole soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29

If you screw up, and you will, don’t give up. I will still be there. Come running back.

“Acknowledge and take to heart that the Lord is God in heaven above and the earth below. There is no other.” Deuteronomy 4:39

God has proven himself time and time again. Make him Lord today.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5

Give him the love and respect he deserves.

Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land the Lord promised to your ancestors.” Deuteronomy 6:18

He’s promised to do everything for our best, always. We should want to do that next right and good thing because it truly is for our best.

“And if we are careful to obey all this law, before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.” Deuteronomy 6:25

Doing the right thing leads to our righteousness. One thing at a time, little by little.

“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God,keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” Deuteronomy 7:9

If we do our part he will always take care of us. Even if we don’t he is faithful and continues to love us and take care of us.

“See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.” Deuteronomy 30:15

Right here God lays it all out. Do you want good in your life? Well here is our answer. Want to be prosperous? God tells us how.

“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this book of the Law on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7-9

God laid it all out for Joshua. First he encouraged him, then he told him just what to do to be successful. He then tells him how to go about it. Taking over Moses job was a daunting task. Especially at his age. But God gave him the strength of a young man. Then he explains that this is a command. If his people were going to go forward and defeat their enemies they would have to follow instructions. He even tells him why. Because I am with you always. You are not doing this alone.

“They said to Joshua, ‘The Lord has surely given the whole land into our hands; all the people are melting with fear because of us.” Joshua 2: 24

God is a God who fights our battles. He has a history of faithfulness. He also has an actual recorded history. These are facts that actually happened. The people were terrified of God’s chosen people. They had heard all the stories that had happened and were afraid.

“So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.” Joshua 10:24

This is another amazing story. I’m sure it can be proven by astronomers. The sun stopped! It stayed daytime till their enemies were defeated. That didn’t just happen. It never happened before, or since. God is good to have on your side.

“Joshua said to them, ‘Do no be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous. This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are going to fight.” Joshua 10:25

Joshua encouraged the people the same way he was encouraged. It was God who was fighting for them and he would be with them just as he is with us. Whatever you are fighting today, God is ready to take over. He will win.

“Then you crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho. The citizens of Jericho fought against you, as did also the Amorites, Perizzites, Caananites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites, and Jebusites, but I gave them into your hands.”

They were up against strong and valiant enemies who fought. Every town fought them but it was a loosing battle and they knew it. News traveled fast even over 2000 years ago. If God was so well known then why did everyone worship other God’s? God brought them into this good land. And he fought for his people. It was not their strength but God’s. They inhabited homes and land that God gave them. Crops they didn’t plant and good things were given to them by God.

Nuggets of Truth

God made heaven and earth and everything that ever was or ever would be in them. Everything we could ever need or want. And it was very good. He is perfect, could he do anything less. I am amazed at all the intricate and unique animals and plants. I believe God was excited to create them. The gorgeous environments and majestic scenery.

“God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number’; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and every living creature that moves upon the ground.” Genesis 1:28

He was so happy to have people to love and he wanted so much more. Everything was just for them. He thought of everything we could enjoy. It was theirs to rule over and nurture. Nothing was too good for them.

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning- the sixth day.” Genesis 1:31

It had to be perfect and everything we could desire was thought of. At times I just sit and ponder the things in my immediate surroundings, which isn’t much, but each little thing brings so much pleasure and memories. Pictures of my family and simple things like my clock. How God created time and seasons that come and go regularly.

“I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, that brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.” Exodus 6:7

If he could just have a special people all his own he would do everything for them and they would love him and obey him out of love and devotion. But we are selfish and wicked and we don’t deserve anything, but that doesn’t stop him. He still wants that special people to bless

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14

“I will do it! I’m willing to do the hard work. I just want your love,” says God

“The Lord is my strength and defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.” Exodus 15:2

We really need to realize just what we have. He is everything and he does everything and he promises us a future because he is our future salvation through his precious son.

“Who is like you- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?” Exodus 15:11

The more you get to know him the larger he becomes in your eyes. Just like the jumbo jet looks tiny when you look up from 30,000 miles away. But when you stand beside it, it’s massive. Draw closer to God and see how big he becomes.

“The Lord reigns for ever and ever.” Exodus 15:18

This is the reason I am at peace. Bottom line is that God does have us all in the palm of his hand and he is working. His will, will be done.

“Then the Lord said to Moses, I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.” Exodus 16:4

His provision is promised but he had a million whining people to take care of. He has storehouses of supplies and fed them each day miraculously with bread from heaven and even meat. There were no stores or crops and the animals they had were required for sacrifices. Everything they needed was up to him. Their clothes and shoes did not wear out. They always had enough.

“The Israelites ate manna for forty years, until they came to a land that was settled; they ate manna till they came to the border of Canaan.” Exodus 16:35

For forty years he took care of over a million people and they thrived and grew in numbers. I liked camping out and I did it for many years with my family, but there was so much to pack and then to clean up once we were done. But they had what they could carry on their backs and that was enough.

Nuggets of Truth in Scripture

As a mother and a grandmother it is very important to support my family in any and every way I can. I am only 62 but have learned so much about life and relationships in the last several years. I was pretty average most of my life but God did bless me with a very good life. But when I was just 45 I had a massive stroke and nearly died. I had been living selfishly for a few years trying to get what I wanted out of life. As I look back now I see God’s grace all over me. If I had died I know I would have gone to heaven, but by the skin of my teeth. I would not have been prepared to meet my maker in all his holiness and splendor. I am ashamed and embarrassed by the life I was living. Oh, I was a Christian raised in church and always tried to do the right things. But it was a hollow and unfulfilling life. What did I do to touch my world or to make a difference? If I had stood before God how would I have looked him in the eyes. I believe now that my stroke was the most important thing that ever happened to me. I finally had the time to search out God and the things that I have learned over the last 16 years, I wish someone could have told me beforehand and saved me from a lot of mistakes. I have come to not only believe in my God but got to know him and his character so very well that I realize that I can’t possibly live a minute without him. Nor do I ever want to. I began reading the Bible every day the year after my stroke. And though at times it has been tough, I committed to read straight through from the beginning to the end. The only way you can have a real good relationship with someone is to get to know everything that is important to them and by sharing everything that is important to you also. That’s why reading the Bible and prayer is so valuable. It’s actually better than the best textbook , owners manual, or guide book for life and it was inspired by the very one who made us and knows what is best for us. And how to get everything we can out of life. In the Bible it says, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free .” John 8:32. Well, I can honestly say that I have never been more at peace, happier, more fulfilled than I am right now. I am truly free at last. I want everyone I know to know what I know and the joy I have found. Man I could have avoided so much pain and conflict if I had only known. What’s really great is that every day I learn to grow more and it just keeps getting better and better. I may live another 30 years . It could happen and it only gets better. So for the next several weeks and months I will besharing words from scriptures and truths God has shown me.

Hope

“For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? For if we hope for what we do not have, we wait for it patiently .” Romans 8:24&25

Hope is not something we already have or just wishful thinking that we might have it. But hope is a lot like faith because we know it’s ours in Jesus Christ our Lord. To look forward to with desire and confidence.

“In his name the nation’s will put their hope.” Matthew 12:21

Jesus is definitely something we can put our hope in. He died for the sins we have committed. We were lost and hopeless but he has given us hope.

You will be secure, because there is hope: you will look about you and take your rest in safety.” Job 11:18

Now we can rest in him. He has done the work, and he is continually working. Each day he is already ahead of us Everything is prepared for our brand new day. Divine appointments are already set up for us to meet and enjoy just who he has put in our paths. Everything is for our best. We need to make the very best we can of today.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him. So that you may overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit..”. Romans 15:13

He has given us the power and strength for today. He’s given us words to speak life. His Spirit will guide and direct us as we trust in him.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12

Joy is something you choose. Just like choosing sadness or defeat. Make joy a choice you make the minute you open your eyes in the morning God has given you this new day just by waking you up. Go and make it the best day that you can.

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4

Notice how many times you see the word WILL in these verses. God knew how important hope is. He is trying to show us that it is not just possible, but guaranteed. If you will search for him you are guaranteed to find peace and joy. So many promises our ours if we just trust him. Don’t just trust but rest in that trust and see it happening.

“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5

When we have the hope of Jesus in our lives we want others to know it too. Others may not believe us, but we can hold securely to that hope because Jesus will never let us down. One day all will know the truth.

“And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:2

So when you boast, boast in him who is worthy and share with all you can.

“God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.” Hebrews 6:18

History has proven so much of the Bible. Historical facts are provable. Beyond that the Bible has proven true based on thousands of prophecies that have come to pass in exact detail and these words prove themselves true. His promises never fail.

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

When I was young my grandfather, a Baptist minister, told me the Bible was completely true and could be believed. The more I believed and did what it said the better my life became. I could see God working.

Trust in the Lord, he is trustworthy. At times when I have had to wait it is hard. Especially because I need help to do most of my personal needs and need my caregiver. They do get busy with others. God wants me to wait patiently. I will get good help when they are free. God will see to it.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3

Jesus was raised to life and is now living in heaven at the right hand of God. Now I can know for sure that when I die I will be raised to life to be with him forever in heaven.

I can totally rest in my God knowing that nothing can separate me from him. One day I will be with him forever.

“All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.” 1 John 3:3

All we need to get to heaven is faith. To believe he meant what he said, that we could come to him and he would forgive us for everything. No limitations. Once we believe we are purified and God sees us just like our King Jesus, perfect.

Everything We Need

“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move on the ground. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:26-27 NIV

I have been learning so much lately about the creation of the world. So many things were explained so clearly. Things I hadn’t really thought about but now made so much more sense. God is awesome. I am so excited about these new incites and just had to share what I have learned. I believe the Bible is 100% true but I had missed so many details, I guess I just never pondered them. Now that I have I can see the whole picture more clearly. As a child I was always questioning things that I learned in school. They just did not always make complete sense to me. And now some scientists are seeing that the Bible really does make more sense. Holding more truths than we thought possible. Well God should know, he was there through it all. Science tried to tell us how things happened that made sense to man. But man is far from perfect and doesn’t understand God’s ways. I believe in a perfect creator that planned everything precisely ahead of time and doesn’t make mistakes. Because I’ve seen him working mightily throughout my life and I believe. He says he made man in his image. That means we are perfect and have everything we need to live an abundant and good life doing all he made us for. We can think and reason even create things with the intelligence he has given us. If we follow him and his commandments I believe we are unstoppable. He did create many animals for us to enjoy and rule over. But did you know at one time we were all herbivores. We all lived in peace together. Animals were for us even dinosaurs could be ours. The weather was moderate so we didn’t really need clothes. We had everything we needed. Water seepage from the earth watered everything and gave us water. It wasn’t till sin came into the garden that things changed. God had to kill one of the animals so he could make clothes for man and the climate changed causing different weather patterns. Animals had to change and adapt to the new climate by growing more fur. Man began eating animals and animals began eating each other which caused them to fear humans. They grew sharp teeth, claws and fangs so they could defend themselves. God still cared for his creatures but life was no longer perfect and hard at times. God gave them defense mechanisms to help them survive. But everything is here that we could ever need. God thought of everything.

Can you see how big God is?

A Time To Laugh

God always wants us to enjoy life. God granted an unbelievable imagination to some for the purpose of entertainment. I heard one pastor say that Jesus was probably at the Canaan wedding because he enjoyed having a good time with people. Imagine this world without Disney, with all his imagination, whimsy and brilliance. He made entertainment what it is today. Moving us from the past of yesteryear to the future. God doesn’t just call people to be ministers and missionaries but to be doctors, lawyers, and entertainers. Joy is good medicine. Something for all ages to enjoy, and all types of people to grasp. Walt Disney is a perfect example. His motion pictures thrilled audiences and still does even after his death. He left behind so much for the world. With his movie’s, television shows, amusement theme parks, cruise lines, memorabilia and so much more he was one of a kind. As a boy he drew on anything and everything, even though his father grew very tired of his choice of easel. The side of the barn was covered with pictures of the characters he drew. Mostly animals and nature. He had a neighborhood doctor pay him to draw his horse. Many neighbors paid for his drawings. He could not understand how these characters could get him anywhere in life. His mother, however, was a big supporter. At one point he talked his younger sister into helping him paint cartoon characters on the side of the house. He met a friend in school who introduced him to vaudeville and motion pictures. He did take art classes in the evenings. He decided to work for newspapers as an artist until his brother Roy got him a job as an illustrator at the age of eighteen for Ub Iwerks. A layoff a little after Christmas lost him and Iwerks their jobs. When he grew older he decided to start his own company. That’s when ‘Laugh O’ Grams’ got started. He was an amazing animator, voice actor and film producer over the years. With a few friends by his side he set out to make cartoons Alice in her wonderland. He joined up with the maker of Felix the Cat. The company soon went bankrupt. He then convinced his brother Roy to put their money together and with the help of a few friends started Disney Brothers Studios in Los Angeles. They had made money by doing Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Not in time to save ‘Laugh O’ Grams’ but it sure got their new venture off and running. He had developed Mortimer Mouse but Lillian didn’t like the stuffy name so they soon settled on Mickey Mouse which was friendlier. It became one of his greatest successes. The making of Mickey in Steamboat Willie in ‘28, which was with sound. Mickey’s voice was no other than Walt himself. It gave him such success in the industry. God gave him quite a talent to share with the world. People can be reached for Christ in all areas of life. I went to a play at my church of Beauty and the Beast, and it was so good. But it has a message from God. We are all important and God knows what’s in our hearts not what we look or act like. We need to see people through God’s eyes and he loves us all.

Has God given you a talent for helping others?

“There is time for everything. And a season for every activity under heaven… a time to weep and a time to laugh.” Ecclesiastes 3:1&4 NIV

His Kingdom

“Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your heart on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4 NIV

When we were born again our worldly life with all it’s desires for selfish lusts and self gratifying passions died. As we became a new creature the old sinful man left and was replaced with the Holy Spirit and all of Christ’s power and righteousness. We are no longer slaves to sin, fear, negative mind sets, and all those things that Satan has hoped to overpower us with. We have been redeemed. We are now residents of heaven and this world is not our home. We are aliens just passing through temporarily. We should therefore set our minds on our new family and our new coming home. What it will be like. All it has for us. This new family comes with so many privileges. As part of this family God looks at us as his children just like his son. Perfectly! We are no longer flawed, we are perfect just lie his son. He also longs to lavish us with so much. Power is the biggest gift. Power to speak in Jesus name. Whatever we speak in faith believing he says we can have it. Healing in Jesus name, abundance, power. Blessings will be yours to the right and the left. Do you realize all you have been promised ? God can, and will provide. He is not limited by money or things. He has a warehouse full of provision and the more we use it for his glory the more he has available. He will always provide our needs. Our church lives by this principle. ‘Find a need and fill it.’ We have so many ministries to help serve people in need. Those who are hungry, homeless, addicted, hurting and so many more. You would think that the thousands of dollars going out would bankrupt us but everything is God’s and his supply never runs dry. Money always comes in to meet these needs. He also gives extreme wisdom to help meet life’s challenges. What he wants to do next and where. He wants us to focus on moving forward and growing in the process. We need to look forward to the glorious day of Christ’s returning. When we will all be with him in his kingdom. No more trials, no more needs. Our work will be done.

Can you imagine how the hereafter will be?
