Nuggets of Truth

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalms 139:13-14

No one is a mistake. You were well thought out beforehand. God only makes perfect people. His plans for you are only good. Even if you only live for one hour your life matters and does make a difference. All life matters.

“Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies.” Psalms 141:3-4

It is so important that we watch what we do and say. Especially words because once they leave our mouth the damage has been done. They are life and they are death. God sees everything we do, say and think. I do not wish to hurt my father or his dear children.

“Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.” Psalms 145:3

God is so good! I pray for needs in the church and I am so blessed by some of the amazing answers to prayer. I also see all that God is doing just in my church. We are but a speck of dust compared to all the churches and prayers coming to him.I can just imagine how busy God is throughout the world.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7

If you fear and respect the Lord you will keep his commands, and never do anything to harm one of his children. He has asked first to think of others before ourselves. I have a problem with “black lives matter”, sure they do but so does every life. Red, yellow, black, white they are all precious in his sight. So are babies in the womb and the elderly. No one is expendable.

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6

Wisdom comes from the Lord, that’s why reading his words every day is the only way to know what is right and to follow his commands. You don’t have time? I don’t have time to waste if my life and prosperity depends on making wise decisions. I don’t want to pay the consequences.

“My son, forget not my law; but let thy heart keep my commandments: for length of days, and years of life, and peace, will they add to thee.” Proverbs 3:1-2

See that keeping his commandments leads to a long and peaceful life. What everyone is looking for but very few find. It is so very easy. But we try to make it difficult.

“Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, and lean not on thy own understanding: in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5

I used to always worry about my care and whether someone would do something right for me personally. God confronted me one day that I wasn’t trusting him, and I was leaning on my own understanding not his. This is the day he has already planned out for me and my best. Whatever happens is predestined for my good. So I totally changed my thinking and you will never believe how happy and peaceful my life became.

“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” Proverbs 10:9

One thing very important is integrity. Let your yes mean yes and your no mean no. Never tell a lie. It is hard to keep your stories straight if you are not telling the truth. People should be able to count on your words.

“One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.” Proverbs 11:24

The ways of God are so different than man’s. What makes sense to us is not always how life works. God is the one who provides and what he blesses will be blessed and what he curses will be cursed. You may have no money but it will go far if you share. If you are stingy that money will soon fly away to someone who will share.

“Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.” Proverbs 13:24

Lord correct me in your great love so that I might live. I know you love me and only want the very best for me. Your wisdom is far above ours.

“Stay away from a fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips.” Proverbs 14:7

Who do you hang around with? Is that what you wish to turn into? Spending time around people will rub off on you. Will it bring good or will it bring you down? I choose to be around people I look up to. Whose values are good.

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” Psalms 100:1

God should make you want to shout. He has done such awesome and almighty things. Just some amazing miracles he did in the Bible like David, Gideon, Joshua, and Moses, whoa! He is not here to do things simply or logically. He does out of the ordinary and spectacular things. I serve on a prayer chain and used to get discouraged by so many needs. So many times I just think man are you in trouble. Defeated before I even pray, but I have seen some amazing miracles and I know my God is worth shouting on the housetop.

God is mighty, look at all that he has made, on the earth and in the sky. Things we can’t even see with our eyes. The galaxy goes on forever and only God himself knows the extent of it. Just look at the things we can see, and I’ve only seen a fraction of what is out there. Then he made billions of animals and takes care of them making sure they have food and water and keeping them alive from birth till death. His masterpiece, man, made in his image, to be like him and to dwell with him. He is always doing stuff for man. His mercy and grace to those that will never be perfect or have it all together. Sometimes, a lot of times, I just start sobbing when I think how amazing he is, praise God.

“I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part of it. The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil.” Psalms 101:3-4

Covid had me locked in my room and it really bothered me but I enjoy my solitude now. I rule over my space and I can control my environment. I don’t miss all the negative drama that goes on out in the world. I prefer my safe space because it’s my peaceful place. If it doesn’t bring peace I have eliminated it from my life.

“Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all of their heart-.” Psalms 119:1-2

No I am not perfect, but I am forgiven. I seek the Lord always, wanting to do all he has for me. My relationship with him is more precious to me than bars of gold. Those who love the Lord and have put their trust in him know they don’t deserve anything, but Christ gave it freely to anyone who would accept it. It takes great faith to accept it. God respects faith and rewards it.

“Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.I am a stranger on the earth; do not hide your commands from me.” Psalms 119:18-19

I’ve been blind before and I didn’t realize it. It was not a good time. But God has opened my eyes so much in the last few years to his truths and I read so much about him and his ways. Anything to stay strong and clear. Keeping his commandments is important because I strayed when I tried to fulfill life by myself not trusting him.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow his righteous laws.” Psalms 119:105-106

God’s word is faithful and true. Being in his word every day keeps us straight. We have to read it over and over till it illuminates are paths brightly. Memorizing his words helps us to put it in our hearts.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” Psalms 127:1

We can spend all of our time and money to get ahead. But if we are not seeking the Lord and his plans then it is in vain. It will not bring happiness or contentment. He wants us happy and successful but we need to seek him first. Then these things follow. If God is not the King of your life, then you are on your own and that’s a dangerous place. God takes care of his own.

“Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; Lord hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, Lord, keep a record of sins, Lord, who could stand ? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.” Psalms 130:1-4

There are times that I have realized I sinned and my heart grows heavy and I feel awful. Saying something bad, reading something inappropriate, thinking wrongly about someone. Go right to God and ask forgiveness immediately. That weight will not lift till you do. It can turn instantly peaceful because God does forgive the minute you ask, he won’t hold on like we tend to do. His mercy is never ending.

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people dwell together in unity.” Psalms 133:1

I had to completely turn my thinking around. I asked God a long time for eyes to see as he sees. Everyone is a beloved child of his made with a unique purpose. Everyone! We are on one team, all of us. We need to do everything we do to support our team. Strive for peace and unity.

Nuggets of Truth

“The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them. The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion. On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur, a scorching wind will be their lot. For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.” Psalms 11:4-7

God sees everything and because he is just all will see their rewards or punishment. We who are good will see his face. Those who are wicked will see his judgment and face his wrath. He ignores nothing.

“You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us from the wicked, who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.” Psalms 12:7-8

Does it seem like evil is accepted all the more and the evil seems to be winning? Well God will take care of his own. He will not lose even one.

“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.” Psalms 13:5-6

I can’t say enough. He is so good, and little things I can see him doing each day that mean so much to me.

“Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others; who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind, who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken.” Psalms 15:1-6

It can be hard at times to do the right thing. To always tell the truth. To always keep your promise. Think of others first. But God notices when you choose to do the right thing when it’s tough. He will reward you.

“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalms 16:8

Watching all God does is so fulfilling. He is always working in and through people I know. My church is changing lives around the world and it’s amazing to watch.

“I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.” Psalms 17:6

Nothing is too simple or too difficult for you. How simple it is for me to assume that I don’t need to bother God about something. I was fretting about having the same breakfast every day and it’s good but getting annoying. Well I prayed about it and this morning it was totally different and so was lunch. I don’t believe in coincidences. God is good and I thanked him.

“To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd. You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.” Psalms 18:25-26

God treats us just how we treat others. Therefore you should always treat others just how you wish to be treated.

“With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.” Psalms 18:29

How big is your God? My God always wins. He is not afraid of your problems. He fights every battle you surrender to him. Are you complaining about your problems or are you leaving them at his feet. I have left some strange problems at his feet. He has never let me down. He may not answer every need just how I choose. People do die and trials do come, but my God will bring me through victoriously.

“The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous.” Psalms 19:7-10

God does not lie. He is right and righteous. I have never been let down. His ways bring life and joy. They make sense after using them. They are very simple but they work. The more you follow the easier they are to follow. It all begins with the fear of the Lord. He is more important to me than anything.

Nuggets of Truth

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.” Psalms 1:1-3

The people of Israel would teach these truths as songs, passing them down to their children. I remember watching tv as a child and they taught the preamble to our constitution as a song. Well songs are an easy way to learn. When I had to learn it in fifth grade, I had it down. These are things to do if you wish to prosper. To help you stand strong. Hanging around certain people can be your downfall. What kind of friends do you keep?

For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.” Psalm 1:6

So many times I have heard people complain that God is not good. Well their ways lead to destruction not good. God warned them but they did not listen.

“Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling.” Psalm 2:11

God’s ways are just. His plans are right. We should listen to what he has to say. He has never lied. He always tells the truth and what to do for blessings and curses. It’s so simple but human pride can put blinders over your eyes. The further away from God, the thicker the blinders get.

But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.” Psalms 3:3-4

The Lord takes good care of us. He will always be there for us. He is only a word away. Bring everything to him. He cares.

“From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessings be on your people.” Psalm 3:8

He makes everything right. He is the only one who can and the only one who will.

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8

I love to talk with God after a long day. I bring everything to him and then I fall asleep so peacefully. When I first had my stroke sleep seldom came. I tossed and turned many nights but now I love to snuggle down in bed knowing he is watching over me.

“Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12

FOG or the favor of God is awesome. People like me, people do nice things for me. Every good thing comes from God and he causes others to do good things for his children, too.

“Lord my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all those who pursue me.” Psalm 7:1

As I sit reading this so many concerns flood my mind. I spend my days on my iPad to keep me busy. But so much of what we do takes money. Well as a person with no income and a lot of free time I’m concerned about being careful and responsible. My bills do have to get paid. But I can’t spend my life worrying or fretting. God has promised to give me strength in all things. I have to believe he will give me wisdom and take care of me.

“My shield is God most high, who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous judge, a God who does display his wrath every day.” Psalm 7:10

God is good and always right. He is a very righteous God but a Holy God who doesn’t tolerate sin. That has to be frustrating with all the wickedness in this world. But he is also full of love that sees beyond the evil.

“I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the Lord Most High..” Psalm 7:17

Oh God you are righteous, when everything around seems wrong and out of control you remain faithful and true. I will not fear for you are with me.

“And Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. …when I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them over the works of your hand; you put everything under their feet.” Psalms 8:1,3-6

Oh I just think of all he has made in this world and it is so good. All just for us. And it works so smoothly and perfectly. He gave it all to us. It was All for us. Not because he needed it or wanted it. And who are we out of the billions he created. Why, love is the only reason that makes any sense. Why mess with imperfect humans when God is perfect. He has legions of angels that serve him all the time and they aren’t messy like us. Just because we have free will. To love him of our own free will. Not because we have to, but because we want to.

Nuggets of Truth

“All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly.” 2 Chronicles 15:15

God’s people would come to him and confess their sins just to go back to sinning again. But every time he forgave them just as he promised he would. Giving them a peace that comes from true repentance. It says, “I really was wrong and I really wish to do right.” But as the world gets hard we often go back into our sins. But God is always ready for us to come back to him no matter how bad we’ve been.

“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

God is perfect and he is just. So when we sin we will pay the consequences. If we run back to him though, he is loving, and will take us back. As parents, I can remember grounding my kids for bad behavior but as they show true repentance, I sometimes forgot about my threats and let them slide because I loved them and wanted to see them happy.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15

God is our champion. He loves his own and will fight for them. We so often let things get to us. Every trial and difficult moment we need to take right to God. The sooner the better. It may be that he’s using it to strengthen us. But he uses everything for our good and he will be with us through everything. Sometimes God will work out impossible situations that we never imagined in his own special way.

“…men went to carry off the plunder, they found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing and articles of value-more than they could take away. There was so much plunder that it took three days to collect.” 2 Chronicles 20:25

In this instance God sent his angels to thwart their enemies, who actually turned on each other and annihilated themselves. And because God is a God of abundance he gave them such a great victory. They not only received the spoils of war but there was so much abundance that it took three days to collect it all.

“He sought God during the days of Zechariah who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.” 2 Chronicles 26:5

So many times the Bible tells us of people who served and followed after him were blessed and successful. Proof that he is good.

Jotham grew powerful because he walked steadfastly before the Lord his God.” 2 Chronicles 27:6

More proof!

“…he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.” 2 Chronicles 31:21

More proof!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him. With him is only the arm of the flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us fight our battles.” 2 Chronicles 32:7-8

If God be for us who can be against us. We may have enemies but who is greater than our God. Can anyone beat him? I know who I want on my side.

“Who of all the gods of these nations that my predecessors has destroyed has been able to save his people from me? How then can your god save you from my hand?” 2 Chronicles 32:14

This just boggles my mind. How the Israelites kept turning to false gods even after the one true God did so much for them. Even the people fighting against them knew God was fighting for them and they didn’t stand a chance. But they still sought false gods. Hoping.

“And the Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons, his own flesh and blood, cut him down with the sword.” 2 Chronicles 32:31

God wins in the end. The bad guy loses and all is right.

Nuggets of Truth

“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourself this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the god of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

God had proven himself to Joshua and he wanted to convince the others but it was their choice. They could see God was good and all that he had done for them but would they serve him?

“It was the Lord our God himself who brought us and our parents up out of Egypt, from that land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nation’s through which we traveled.” Joshua 24:17

The people said it themselves. God did it all for us. But would they serve him? They were a stiffnecked people.

“Lord the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth-you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.” 2 Chronicles 6:14

One thing is true. God does keep his promises. When he says something it can be trusted. It may not be in our time frame but it is always on time and the perfect time.

“Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple? People will answer, because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them-that is why he brought all this disaster on them.” 2 Chronicles 7:22

We bring so much trouble onto ourselves and yet we quickly blame God. God is always good and just. His ways we just can’t fathom because he knows the beginning from the end.

“The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.” 2 Chronicles 15:2

The more you seek him, the more he will be revealed to you. I heard someone explain that to me in regards to children. The dad is being chased by his kids round and round but just before they give up he let’s them catch him. Because that love brings so much joy. He just wants them to earnestly seek him. Or have you ever played hide and seek with kids? While they count you hide but not very hidden so they won’t give up too easily.

“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7

God will reward us when we try. He loves us and he loves to give us good things. People who don’t know God think of him as a taskmaster. But since they don’t know him they will never know how much you do for someone you truly love, just because you love them.

Nuggets of Truth

God made heaven and earth and everything that ever was and will be in them. Everything we could ever need or desire. And it was very good. He is perfect, could he do any less. I am amazed at all the unique and intricate plants and animals. I believe God was excited to create them. The gorgeous environments and magnificent scenery.

“God blessed them and said to them, ‘be fruitful and increase in number’; Fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28

He was so happy to have people to love and he wanted more. Everything was just for them. He thought of everything that we could enjoy. It was theirs to rule over and nurture. Nothing was too good for them.

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning-the sixth day.” Genesis 1:31

It had to be perfect and everything we could ever desire was thought of. At times I just sit and ponder the things in my surroundings, which isn’t much, but each thing has so much pleasure and memories attached. Pictures of my family and special things from people I love. Simple things like my clock. How God created seasons and time to come and go.

“I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, that brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.” Exodus 6:7

If he could just have a special people all his own he would do everything for them and they would love him and obey him out of gratitude. But we are selfish and wicked. We don’t deserve anything but that doesn’t stop him. He still wants that special people to do everything for.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14

“I will do it. I am willing to do the hard work for you. I just want your love, says the God.

“The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.” Exodus 15:2

We really need to realize just what we have. He is everything and he does everything and he promises a future because he is our ultimate salvation through his son.

“Who is like you- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?” Exodus 15:11

The more you get to know him the larger he becomes in your eyes. Just like a jumbo jet is tiny when you look up at it 30,000 miles away. But stand beside it, it is massive. Draw closer to God and see just how big he gets.

“The Lord reigns for ever and ever.” Exodus 15:18

This is the reason I am at peace. Bottom line is that God does have us all in the palm of his hand and he is always working. His will, will be done.

“As for me; I will always have hope, I will praise you more and more.” Psalms 71:14

The more I praise you the better life is and the more I want to praise you God.

“Never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws.” Psalms 119:43

I pray in the mornings and proclaim many things he has promised in his word . I will rejoice in the Lord always, for the Lord is Jehovah Jirah my provider and I have everything I need, and Jehovah Rapha by his stripes I am healed , and the Lord is my strength . The Lord keeps in perfect peace those whose minds stay on him. The more I say it the more I believe it.

“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.” Psalms 119:114

“The Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Psalms 147:11

The Lord is perfect and deserves my respect and admiration. He will never disappoint me or anyone. Once you get that into your head you will realize how the fear of the Lord brings peace not fear.

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that in order that you will know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.” Ephesians 1:18

“To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27

“For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? Indeed, you are our glory and joy.” 1 Thessalonians 2:19&20

He is all mighty, all wise, patient, merciful, full of grace, always with us everywhere and everything all at the same time. And he offers all to us who believe in him. Nothing can compare.

“But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.” 1 Thessalonians 5:8

We can guard our hearts and our minds, just reminding ourselves what our faith will do for us.

“so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:7

I am an heir with Jesus and all he gets I get. That is amazing, but God is my dad by adoption and he loves me just as much. This family will live together forever. I like to watch princess movies where some forlorn girl becomes royalty and lives happily ever after with her Prince. Well we get to look forward to that same forever after and it will be even better.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3

Jesus was raised to life and is now in heaven at the right hand of God. Now I can know for sure that when I die I will be raised to life with him in heaven forever. I can totally rest in my God knowing that nothing can separate me from him. One day I will be with him forever.

All those who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.” 1 John 3:3

All we need to get to heaven is faith. To believe that he meant what he said, that we could come to him and he would forgive everything. No limitations. Once we believe we are purified and God sees us just as our King, Jesus, perfect.

“For I know the plans I have for you, ‘declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

It is hard at times not knowing what the future holds for me. I do have good people taking care of me and so far I can do most things for myself as far as keeping busy and basic needs. My body needs help getting up, showered, and dressed. Will I get worse? I can’t stand anymore and my feet and ankles are bent pretty bad. I know I will decline as I age. But God will take care of me.

“My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.” Isaiah 51:5

Justice is difficult to describe, but God is very just and will eventually bring punishment to those who deserve it. He will make all right.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12

It is hard to wait for things we need and want and this can bring angst. But when good finally does come we rejoice in God who is so faithful.

“May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you.” Psalms 25:21

When I spend my time doing things that are good, following his commands and his example it does bring rewards. It brings joy, peace, and blessings. His ways work and are always worth it.

“For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.” Psalms 37:9

When we get to heaven there will be no evil, and wicked people, those who have been forgiven and are free from past mistakes. We are totally new creatures. We will be perfect in our perfect home.

“Hope in the Lord and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are destroyed you will see it.” Psalms 37:34

One day we will be rewarded for all of our efforts to serve patiently. Those who have not done God’s will and have lived evil lives will have to face his wrath.

“But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.” Psalms 39:7

The Lord knows just what I need. I have learned that he will provide even if there is not much I have control over. Lately because of illness the people doing my laundry have been running behind getting my clothes back. I joked with caregivers that I would have to go naked tomorrow because I had no more pants. Well bright and early they came in with a stack of clothes. Just in time. Thanks God.

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” Psalms 42:5

I wake up each day with hope and expectation, I didn’t always but I can think of a million reasons to choose joy and not sadness or anger. The biggest one is that I only want good so I choose joy. It never causes regret or anxious thoughts.

“For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.” Psalms 52:9

Coming together as a common people to worship and learn more about God with people who believe the same way is so important. We hold each other up. Community, us and God. A threefold strand will stand strong.

You are so good to me and you have given me awesome daughters that always make sure I have everything I could need and want. Thanks!

You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas.” Psalms 65:5

You are always working and you are always good and that will never change.

HOPE

“In his name the nation’s will put their hope.” Matthew 12:21

Jesus is definitely something we can put our hope in. He has offered himself as the pure and spotless lamb. He died for the sins we have committed. We were lost and hopeless but he has given us hope.

“You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.” Job 11:18

Now we can rest in him. He has done the work, and he is continually working. Each day he is already ahead of us. Everything is perfectly prepared for our brand new day. Divine appointments are set up for us to meet and enjoy just who he has put in our path. Everything is for our best. We need to make the very best of this new day.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

He has given us the power and strength we need for today. He gives us words for speaking life. His spirit will guide and direct us as we trust in him. Something we really need badly is his spirit. Just as Jesus told his disciples to eagerly wait for his spirit to come and fill them with power. They continually met praying, praising and singing until it came. Now when we believe and accept Jesus as our savior we receive a portion of his spirit, but we need more to give us the strength and endurance we will need to, not give up. We should greatly desire spiritual gifts.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12

Joy is something you choose. Just like choosing sadness or defeat. Make joy a choice you make in the morning the minute you open your eyes. God has given you this brand new day just by waking you up. Go and make it the best day you can.

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4

Notice how many times you see the word WILL in these verses. God knew how important hope is to everyone. He is showing us that it is not just possible, but guaranteed. If you will search for him you will be guaranteed to find joy and peace . So many promises our ours if we just trust in him. Don’t just trust but rest in that trust and see it happening.

“But if we hope for what we do not have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:25

“For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all, who hopes for what they already have.” Romans 8:24

Hope is a strange thing. When we need something or want something we anticipate it, sometimes the longer we have to wait the more exciting it is when it does happen. Hope helps you wait because even when tough times come you know that good will come too.

“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts thru the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5

When we have the hope of Jesus in our lives we want others to know it too. Others may not believe us but we can hold securely to that hope because Jesus will never let us down. One day all will know the truth.

“And we boast in the hope of the glory of God”. Romans 5:2

So when you boast, boast in the one who is worthy. Share him with all you got.

“God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.” Hebrews 6:18

History has proven so much of the Bible. Historical facts are provable. Beyond that, the Bible has proven true based on thousands of prophecies that have come to pass in the exact detail, and these words prove themselves true. His promises never fail.

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for him who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

When I was young, my grandfather a Baptist minister, told me the Bible was completely true and could be believed. The more I believed and did what it said, the better my life got. I could see God working.
