“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3

Jesus was raised to life and is now in heaven at the right hand of God. Now I can know for sure that when I die I will be raised to life with him in heaven forever. I can totally rest in my God knowing that nothing can separate me from him. One day I will be with him forever.

All those who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.” 1 John 3:3

All we need to get to heaven is faith. To believe that he meant what he said, that we could come to him and he would forgive everything. No limitations. Once we believe we are purified and God sees us just as our King, Jesus, perfect.

“For I know the plans I have for you, ‘declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

It is hard at times not knowing what the future holds for me. I do have good people taking care of me and so far I can do most things for myself as far as keeping busy and basic needs. My body needs help getting up, showered, and dressed. Will I get worse? I can’t stand anymore and my feet and ankles are bent pretty bad. I know I will decline as I age. But God will take care of me.

“My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.” Isaiah 51:5

Justice is difficult to describe, but God is very just and will eventually bring punishment to those who deserve it. He will make all right.

“Hope in the Lord and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are destroyed you will see it.” Psalms 37:34

One day we will be rewarded for all of our efforts to serve patiently. Those who have not done God’s will and have lived evil lives will have to face his wrath.

“But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.” Psalms 39:7

The Lord knows just what I need. I have learned that he will provide even if there is not much I have control over. Lately because of illness the people doing my laundry have been running behind getting my clothes back. I joked with caregivers that I would have to go naked tomorrow because I had no more pants. Well bright and early they came in with a stack of clothes. Just in time. Thanks God.

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” Psalms 42:5

I wake up each day with hope and expectation, I didn’t always but I can think of a million reasons to choose joy and not sadness or anger. The biggest one is that I only want good so I choose joy. It never causes regret or anxious thoughts.

“For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.” Psalms 52:9

You are so good to me and you have given me awesome daughters that always make sure I have everything I could need and want. Thanks!

You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas.” Psalms 65:5

You are always working and you are always good and that will never change.

HOPE

“In his name the nation’s will put their hope.” Matthew 12:21

Jesus is definitely something we can put our hope in. He has offered himself as the pure and spotless lamb. He died for the sins we have committed. We were lost and hopeless but he has given us hope.

“You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.” Job 11:18

Now we can rest in him. He has done the work, and he is continually working. Each day he is already ahead of us. Everything is perfectly prepared for our brand new day. Divine appointments are set up for us to meet and enjoy just who he has put in our path. Everything is for our best. We need to make the very best of this new day.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

He has given us the power and strength we need for today. He gives us words for speaking life. His spirit will guide and direct us as we trust in him. Something we really need badly is his spirit. Just as Jesus told his disciples to eagerly wait for his spirit to come and fill them with power. They continually met praying, praising and singing until it came. Now when we believe and accept Jesus as our savior we receive a portion of his spirit, but we need more to give us the strength and endurance we will need to, not give up. We should greatly desire spiritual gifts.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12

Joy is something you choose. Just like choosing sadness or defeat. Make joy a choice you make in the morning the minute you open your eyes. God has given you this brand new day just by waking you up. Go and make it the best day you can.

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4

Notice how many times you see the word WILL in these verses. God knew how important hope is to everyone. He is showing us that it is not just possible, but guaranteed. If you will search for him you will be guaranteed to find joy and peace . So many promises our ours if we just trust in him. Don’t just trust but rest in that trust and see it happening.

“But if we hope for what we do not have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:25

“For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all, who hopes for what they already have.” Romans 8:24

Hope is a strange thing. When we need something or want something we anticipate it, sometimes the longer we have to wait the more exciting it is when it does happen. Hope helps you wait because even when tough times come you know that good will come too.

“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts thru the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5

History has proven so much of the Bible. Historical facts are provable. Beyond that, the Bible has proven true based on thousands of prophecies that have come to pass in the exact detail, and these words prove themselves true. His promises never fail.

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for him who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

When I was young, my grandfather a Baptist minister, told me the Bible was completely true and could be believed. The more I believed and did what it said, the better my life got. I could see God working.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3

“But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the Lord only if his prediction comes true.” Jeremiah 28:9

“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it in practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Phillipians 14:9

When you watch someone else going through very difficult situations and can still see them smile and be calm, you will choose to be more like them .Prison, beatings, flogging, and shipwrecks but still have peace.

People complain about all of their troubles and woes but if they aren’t keeping God’s commandments they shouldn’t expect his blessings.

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

The blood of Jesus Christ has paid for so many curses. There are so many wrongs in this world that come about because of that very first sin. But because of his blood we can receive healing, forgiveness, freedom and deliverance.

“All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.” Isaiah 54:13

As parents I believe that our number one goal is to raise children to love, respect and follow after the Lord. Teaching them to do the things that will bring peace to their lives.
